Executive Chairman

Ewe Teik is a co-founder and chairman of Advanz Fidelis. He brings with him an extensive and astounding level of experience and expertise from the industry that culminates from over 35 years of business management experience within Southeast Asia.

Prior to joining Advanz Fidelis, Ewe Teik has held key appointments that include Managing Director, Country Director, Chief Executive Officer and Regional Manager both locally and in South East Asia for a major Fortune 500 corporation.

He has a wealth of experience in legal, financial and business management in a wide range of businesses from crop protection to food additives, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. He has played very active roles in managing, utilizing and formulating strategies for the protection of Intellectual Property since the mid-1970s. His many strengths include the start-up of operations, building up of multi-million dollar businesses from zero base, divestiture of companies, positioning of companies for growth and consultation on high-level business management and regulatory issues.

Graduated from the University of Malaya in Agricultural Science, Ewe Teik also has professional training from the Wharton School of Economics, the University of Illinois and the Dimensional Psychological Associates of New York. He in turn provides his insight and advice to Advanz Fidelis, enabling the business to grow and flourish, while at the same time ensuring that the clients receive the best that Advanz Fidelis has to offer. Jern Ern CHUAH

Executive Director

Jern Ern is the lead Senior Consultant on IP matters with wide ranging experiences extending across every aspect of IP practice, from registration through to litigation, from advisory and consultation to physical implementation of clients IP strategies and policies. He also manages IP work relating to mediation, negotiation settlements, mergers & acquisitions, licensing & technology transfer and has assisted many locally and internationally renowned clients in resolving complicated IP issues.

Jern Ern is extremely active both locally and internationally in the IP community and has represented Malaysia and Industry Associations in several international symposiums. He is the Founding and Immediate Past President of the Intellectual Alumni Association of Malaysia (IPAAM) and is also a committee member (Malaysian Group) of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), a committee member of the Emerging Issues Committee - International Trade Mark Association (INTA) and sits as a lead committee member of the Negotiations and Mediation Group in the Malaysian Franchise Association. He is also an active member of IP Industry Associations both in Malaysia and the ASEAN region.

He graduated from the University of Nottingham, UK, where he was conferred a LL.B (Hons). He is also a Registered Patent, Trade Mark and Industrial Design Agent, an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya (non practicing) and a Barrister At Laws (Lincoln’s Inn) of England and an alumni member of the Association of Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS). 

Mae Lin NG

Executive Director

Mae Lin is an Executive Director and the Head of Operations at Advanz Fidelis Sdn Bhd. A specialist in trademark, copyright and industrial design matters, she is also a consultant in the management and implementation of IP portfolios and trademark systems.

Prior to her joining Advanz Fidelis Sdn Bhd, Mae Lin was the IP Advisor in one of the largest TV stations in Malaysia and her responsibilities actively involved her in the negotiation of licensing and IP related agreements and matters. 

She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Intellectual Property Alumni Association of Malaysia (IPAAM), an active member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) and the Malaysian Intellectual Property Association (MIPA).

A law graduate of the University of Queensland, Australia, Mae Lin’s professional qualifications include being an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya (non-practicing) and a Registered Patent, Trademarks and Industrial Design Agent of Malaysia.

Elaine CHUAH

Director, Public Affairs

Elaine is one of the executive directors and head of public affairs at Advanz Fidelis. She is a seasoned communications specialist, and in turn provides her advice and strategies in helping clients understand the value and power of branding and the importance of managing public perception as part of the entire value chain of their Intellectual Property strategy.

Elaine’s in-depth experience and knowledge in public relations and strategic communications is wide spread across many different industries, where she provides strategic public relations counsel to a wide range of local and international clientele. She is well connected with the local media circles and has very good relations with the specialist IT media in Malaysia. She uses her expertise and vast public relations knowledge to help clients achieve their value added objectives in relation to their business, products, services and Intellectual Property Assets.

Elaine is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA with a B.A. in Journalism (majoring in mass communications) and is also the executive director of a leading public relations agency in Malaysia.
