Job Opening

Trademark Executive / Consultant

Job description:

  • Advising potential and existing clients on various intellectual property issues

  • Preparing cost proposals and quotations for IP filing and all prosecution actions

  • Providing advice with respect to all aspects of local and international trademark portfolios, including trademark searches/analysis, trademark applications and office action responses

  • Preparing, managing and reviewing all documents, including trademark applications, office action responses and commercial intellectual property agreements such as licence and assignment, as well as ensuring that all documents are handled and processed in a timely manner in order to comply with relevant regulations and deadlines

  • Liaising with clients and/or Intellectual Property Corporation (MYIPO)

  • Monitoring deadlines, reminder lists and/or follow up as required

  • Overseeing, supervising, monitoring and guiding other team members

Requirements:

  • Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Law or equivalent.

  • Preferably 2 to 4 years’ relevant trademark work experience in a similar role

  • Proficient in MS Office, with good word processing skills

  • Must be a team player and be willing to work extra hours if required

  • Able to work independently

  • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with people at all levels

  • Good time management and organisational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and deal with high volume of work

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to be flexible

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
